Question

Who may require the O-shot®?

Answer

The ‘O’ in ‘O-shot®’ stands for ‘orgasm’ and it has become sought-after worldwide by women seeking enhanced sexual pleasure. It can benefit women who have experienced a loss of orgasm post natural childbirth or menopause, suffer from vaginal dryness, pain during sexual intercourse, or find themselves leaking urine when sneezing, coughing or jumping.

Question

What does the treatment involve?

Answer

There is an Injection of PRP (platelet rich plasma), made from patients’ own blood. The blood is taken from patient’s arm and spun in a special machine to remove red blood cells. PRP has a greater concentration of growth factors, which are used in the healing process. PRP is used widely in sports injuries, orthopaedics, plastic surgery and dermatology. It has gained popularity for the treatment of hair loss and for skin rejuvenation (the ‘vampire facelift’).

The O-shot® is an injection of PRP into the area of the G-spot – underneath the urethra. PRP can also be injected into the clitoris to stimulate orgasm and into the vaginal wall to treat vaginal dryness and painful intercourse as well as frequent vaginal infections.

Question

Where and how is the treatment performed?

Answer

O-shot® is performed in the doctors’ office under local anaesthesia. The doctor will draw blood from a vein in your arm and use a special machine to prepare PRP. The doctor will apply anaesthetic cream to numb the area on injection. You may need an anaesthetic injection to numb the area further. The doctor will then inject PRP in the G-spot, clitoris, vagina or all three areas depending on your needs.

Question

Can I go back to work after the procedure?

Answer

Yes, you can return to your regular activities following the O-shot®.

Question

What are the side effects of this procedure?

Answer

The most common side effect is increased frequency and intensity of vaginal orgasm, as well as increased vaginal wetness. Pain is uncommon, but some patients may experience it during the procedure and shortly afterwards. Discomfort when passing urine is very rare.

There is a possibility (once again extremely rare) of urinary retention (inability to pass urine) for 1-2 days after the procedure which resolves on its own. It happens because the injected substance compresses the urethra (tube between the bladder and vagina). In such cases, doctors will insert a catheter into the bladder for 1-2 days

The O-shot® is a very safe procedure and the complications are extremely rare.

Question

When does one feel the effect of O-shot®?

Answer

The effect of O-shot® are apparent at different times depending on the patient. Some patients notice an immediate change and others can take up to 3 months to experience a change.

The effect of the injection lasts for about 12-36 months.

Question

Are there reasons why one should not have O-shot®?

Answer

The doctor does a full assessment to establish if you are a candidate for the O-shot®.

There are few conditions that will unfortunately negate you as a patient: Infection, Blood disorders and Cancer.

It is also important for patients to have realistic expectations. This is a regenerative procedure and depends on the patients body to regenerate itself, so results are variable.

Question

What is the difference between O-shot® and G-shot?

Answer

O-shot® is a trade name for injection of PRP in G-spot and clitoris. The G-shot is an injection of hyaluronic acid into G-spot.

Question

Is the O-Shot® safe?

Answer

Because the O-Shot® is a platelet-rich plasma injection (PRP) and because of the nature of PRP injections (which involve injecting the patient’s own plasma back into the treated site of injection), the O-Shot® is perfectly safe. Your body will react naturally to an injection made from your own plasma.

Question

How long does it take to receive an O-Shot®?

Answer

When you visit a doctor for an O-Shot® appointment, the visit in its entirety shouldn’t take longer than an hour. Appointments consist of patient preparation and processing the patient’s blood within a centrifuge in order to extract the plasma, which can then be injected into the desired area.
